Blaze Benefit Plan Services was founded in 2024 by Suzy Blazeska, CPA. Suzy has over 15 years of public accounting experience exclusively focused on auditing an array of employee benefit plans at a top 10 national accounting firm. Suzy's experience spans small and mid-sized businesses, Fortune 500 corporations, public and private companies, all covering over 150,000 employees across multiple states and industries. These industries included healthcare, life sciences, food and beverage, manufacturing, professional service firms, telecommunications and technology. Suzy's audit portfolio surpassed $10 billion in net assets annually.
Having worked extensively in this field, Suzy understands the intricate complexities and challenges of ERISA and the DOL that Plan Sponsors must navigate and deal with in managing their employee benefit plan(s). She is passionate about retirement and working with small to mid-sized businesses that provide a 401(k) plan or a pension plan, and assisting Plan Sponsors meet their compliance and fiduciary obligations in a timely and efficient manner.
Suzy obtained her Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting and Management from Western Sydney University in Australia. She is a CPA licensed in the State of Illinois and also maintains her Chartered Accountant license from Australia. Suzy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society where she currently serves on the Employee Benefits Committee for the 2024-2025 term. She has advanced certificates from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and Health & Welfare Plans.
